The University of Nairobi (UoN) admission letter is an official document confirming a student’s eligibility and offer of admission to pursue a program at the premier institution of higher learning.

A student who has been admitted to UoN can download an admission letter from the university portal.

How to Download the University of Nairobi (UoN) Admission Letter

  1. First Download the list of students placed by KUCCPS to the University of Nairobi from the official UON website:. Upon downloading the PDF, search for your name to obtain your admission number, also known as the Registration Number. In case your admission number is not listed, utilize the reference number sent to you via the contact details you provided at the KUCCPS portal.
  2. After obtaining your admission number, visit the UoN SMIS Portal
  3. Log in to the portal using your registration number as the username and your National ID / Passport Number, KCSE Index Number, or Registered Mobile Number as the password.
  4. From the portal, you can proceed to download your admission letters along with other related forms such as the Letter of Acceptance (Form J1/1A), Medical Examination Form (Form J1/3), Accommodation Form (Form J1/7A), and others, as required.
  5. Ensure that you pay the relevant fees to your respective college.
  6. Download and complete all the necessary forms, returning them as per the given instructions.
  7. For any assistance or issues with accessing your student portal, you can reach out to the admission office.

How to Carry out UoN Inter-Faculty Transfer

The process for applying for Inter-Faculty Transfer at the University of Nairobi is as follows:

  1. Visit the student SMIS portal
  2. Locate and click on the “Inter-Faculty Transfer” icon within the portal.
  3. Follow the provided instructions carefully, which will include making the necessary payment for the transfer fee.

The UoN Inter-Faculty Transfer process is online and will be activated one (1) week after the Reporting, Orientation, and Registration period.

Students who have previously benefited from an Inter-University Transfer are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply for Inter/Intra-Faculty Transfer.
