The drink – green smoothie – greatest drink ever

Green smoothie

If you have ever tasted a green smoothie before, scratch that, a well-prepared green smoothie, you would agree that they are not just delicious but also extremely nutritious. They are 100℅ better than processed drinks and the junk you eat to pass the time. If smoothie sounds like Greek to you then you have been missing out on one of the greatest drinks ever. Allow me to fill you in on what it is all about.

The drink – green smoothie – is simply a mixture of green vegetables and fruits alongside other additions such as water, mango, apple, pear, banana, etc; all of which are blended together. It is as simple as that.

How to make a green smoothie

First things first, you must have a blender – the machine that does the job for you in minutes. Also, you’re going to need a green veggie, and all its other companions – apple, banana, pear, strawberries, etc. You can broaden your variety of fruits and also use as many as you want, but that will depend on the quantity you intend to make and how much your blender can take at a time. Now, put the green in the blender and repeat this process with the fruits. Do not include the skin of the banana or the stem in the apple, also shed the skin of the mango before including it. The stem of the apple is that stick-like structure right in the middle. If you’re going to use strawberries feel free to include the green on it. Now don’t forget to add some water after everything, then close it all up and blend.

Moreover, there is an important point to make, this could make or mar your green smoothie. A great green smoothie requires a high level of soluble fiber which is found in some of the fruits outlined above. This merges well with the insoluble fiber – veggies. If the soluble fiber is lacking greatly, you’ll have a bad green smoothie. In such a case, when you’re done blending, you will see the particles in the blender dropping to the bottom. And when you taste it, a full understanding of what I’m talking about would suffice. The solution is to use soluble fiber-filled fruits of which mangoes are favorites; bananas, pears, strawberries, and kiwi are also high in soluble fiber. When you use these for your smoothie you’d notice that those same particles are suspended. You will also not notice any foaming at the top. And finally, it will taste like a real green smoothie (creamy and tasty), the type that could make any unbeliever repent of the crime of avoiding it all the while.

Health Benefits of Green Smoothies

These are numerous. To start with, you would have noticed that what you have done is a fruit combo coupled with greens. That gives you pure vitamins from different sources. No need to constantly rely on multivitamins anymore, raw sources of vitamins are better. With the addition of greens, the presence of fiber is guaranteed. Ordinary fruit juices lack this because during the extraction process the fiber is lost. For those with an uncommon allergy to veggies, this is a way to eat it without knowing it. The fruits overshadow the taste of the veggies but that does not mean the latter is not as effective as normal greens. Green smoothies also help in weight loss as they are low in calories and contain high amounts of water that keeps you full all the time. Finally, the real plus about this ultimate drink is that it is easy to make and it doesn’t take long at all. With all of these benefits, you have no excuse to avoid this drink anymore. It is the ultimate indeed!

P.S For a better appreciation of this wholesome drink, decorate the glass in which it will be served with fruits placed on one side of the cup. This will build the interest of whoever is being served.
