TSC July Mass Recruitment: Requirements | How to Apply

Teachers Service Commission, TSC is priming itself to conduct mass recruitment of teachers in the coming July. When asked about the rumors circulating online about the looming July teacher's employment exercise, the Head of Corporate Communication at the Teachers Service Commission did not deny the rumor.

The director seemed to imply that plans are underway to solve the shortage of teachers in secondary and primary schools ahead of form one admission early next term.

Earlier the government had announced that it would hire 5,000 teachers this year to address the 100% transition and the other remaining ten thousand in the next two years, 5,000 yearly. The TSC is awaiting allocation in the 2021 financial year for recruitment as soon as early July before the inclusion of first-form students.

Most schools especially secondary will undoubtedly welcome the move warmly as it seeks to improve the teacher-student ratio in public schools. Also, it’s a boost to many teachers despite being registered by the commission continue their long wait for employment.

According to Teachers Service Commission statistics, there are over 330,000 jobless trained and registered tutors in the country as per the beginning of the year.

TSC is priming itself to employ 5,000 teachers in secondary schools next month. This is after the commission was allocated Ksh. 2.5 billion by Treasury for teachers enrollment.

The commission is keen only in employing secondary School tutors, leaving behind a big batch of unemployed Certificate primary teachers. This is part of the government scheme to employ 15,00 secondary School teachers, some 5,000 annually, in the next three years.

TCS will then deploy 5,000 teachers to secondary schools as the institutions are expected to face a bigger shortage. Some 3,500 interns will also be posted to secondary on a two years contract.

To qualify for the coming employment opportunity, the candidates must meet the TSC requirements for Employment provided below.
