The University of Dayton is situated in Ohio and is a Roman Catholic, Marianist research institution. It serves the motto of "For God and Country" and is currently one of the three Marianist universities in the USA. The Society of Mary founded it in 1850. The institution ranked at 401-450 in the QS World University Rankings, 2022, and between 601-800 for THE Ranking, 2019. It stands at #231 in US College Rankings 2022.

The University of Dayton awards merit scholarships to prospective first-year students worth up to $124,000 (over four years) as a reward for their hard work. Additionally, a $16,000 scholarship each year, Academic Excellence Awards, and other benefits are available to full-time transfer students.

University of Dayton's Admission

The University of Dayton welcomes applications from all types of students coming from different backgrounds. The following guidelines should be followed when applying to UD. 

  • Submit an application, which includes an essay. Use the University of Dayton Application or the Common Application to submit a free application.
  • Attach the official transcripts from high school. 
  • You may submit optional SAT or ACT scores. Tests are not required for admission to the University of Dayton. Please read through the Test-Optional Details and Test Score Policy page of the university if you have any questions regarding submitting test results.
