corporate governance, IoD Kenya has emerged as a driving force behind the
country's business and leadership landscape. IoDK is a leading membership
professional organisation of individual directors and corporate organisations
that, inter alia, champions director professionalism through training board
evaluations and setting standards for boardroom operations and corporate leadership.
We empower directors, executives, and leaders with knowledge, skills, and
networks to drive organisational success and contribute to sustainable
development. IoDK is a Member of the Africa Corporate Governance Network. This
is a Network of similar organisations that seek to promote good governance in
Africa. Kenya was one of the founding members of the ACGN in 2013.

IoD Kenya was founded in April 2004 as an autonomous, non-political organisation; and has since been at the forefront of advancing corporate governance practices in Kenya. Joining the IoD
IoD membership is open to everyone – from aspiring directors
to those with senior-level responsibilities. There are different categories
depending on your experience and the services you need. The highest level of
membership is a full/fellow member who represent the most experienced and
accomplished individuals in the field of governance. Typically this requires
extensive experience, a proven track record in governance roles, and often
advanced qualifications in the two courses in Essential of Directorship and
Advanced Directorship Certification Course offered by the Institute.
ASSOCIATE
For individuals who have an interest in governance or
directorship but have not attained a certain level of experience and or
qualifications in directorship. May be working closely with directors.
KES 10,000.00 / year
ORDINARY
For individuals who meet the standard criteria and have a
certain level of experience, qualifications, and engagement in governance
activities.
KES 12,000.00 / year
FULL MEMBER
An individual who is already a member of the Institute and
has achieved the highest level of membership status within the IoDK. They
represent the most experienced and accomplished individuals in the field of
governance.
