Communication Intern
The Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) is seeking a
Communication Intern to support its dynamic and impactful communications
function. This role is best suited for a recent graduate who is a registered
AAK member, with a passion for storytelling, design, digital engagement, and
communications that drive change. The intern will work closely with the
Membership and Communications Officer and the wider Secretariat team to support
AAK’s mission of promoting excellence in the built environment.
Responsibilities:
- Draft
and design internal and external communication content
- Assist
in planning and executing publicity for events, webinars, and key
campaigns
- Manage
and schedule social media content across AAK platforms
- Support
member engagement initiatives across all eight professions
- Contribute
to newsletters, website updates, and media outreach
- Document
events and support the creation of visual and written content
- Assist
with general administrative communication tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong
written and verbal communication skills
- Creativity,
attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
- Familiarity
with social media platforms and content creation tools
- Basic
graphic design Skills
- Ability
to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- An
interest in the built environment and professional institutions is an
added advantage
- A
registered AAK member is an added advantage
