Rongo University is a Kenyan University located approximately 8 kilometres outside Rongo town in Migori County, southwestern Kenya.

The university was established in 2011 and officially became a full-fledged university in October 2016.

Previously, it was a constituent college of Moi University and occupied the former site of Moi Institute of Technology (MIT), which was established in 1981.

In 2007, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Moi University and Moi Institute of Technology, enabling MIT to offer diploma and undergraduate programs in fields like education, business, and human resource management as a satellite campus.
