Information Technology Services (ITS) Department, at the University of Eastern
Africa, Baraton. The Webmaster shall report to the ITS Manager.

Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web
Development, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a website developer
with a strong portfolio demonstrating web development skills.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and
familiarity with frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Experience with back-end technologies
(e.g., PHP, Node.js) and databases (e.g., MySQL).
- Knowledge of content management systems
(e.g., WordPress, Joomla).
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and
website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Strong problem-solving skills and
attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the
ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- A Christian in good and regular standing.
Preferred Skills and Qualities
- Experience in an academic or educational
environment.
- Knowledge of web compliance standards and
guidelines.
- Experience with graphic design tools
(e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) for basic design tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance the
university’s websites, ensuring user-friendliness and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with departments to understand
their web-related needs and deliver functional solutions.
- Implement and manage CMS platforms (e.g.,
WordPress, Joomla) to support content management.
- Optimize website performance,
responsiveness, and SEO.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues
and bugs.
- Ensure compliance with web standards and
accessibility guidelines.
- Integrate web-based tools to support the
university’s digital initiatives.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies
and best practices.
- Perform any other ICT-related tasks as
instructed by the ITS Manager
