Projects Costing Engineer
The Davis & Shirtliff Group is the leading supplier of
water and energy solutions in the region. The group is Kenyan based and
operates through a network of Kenyan branches as well as regional subsidiaries
in Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, South Sudan, DRC and Zimbabwe. The company
has a total complement of over 900 highly trained and professional staff spread
across the region and seeks to fill the position of Projects Costing
Engineer at Nairobi Head office.
The successful candidate will report to the Group
Projects Manager and be charged with the following
responsibilities.
- Active
involvement in tender bids and proposals preparation.
- Estimating
quantities, costs and time scales for material and labour
- Preparing
tender and contract documents
- Negotiating
contracts.
- Identifying
and weighing up commercial risks
- Valuing
completed work, managing budgets and overseeing payments
- Ensuring
projects meet legal and quality standards
- Submitting
regular budget reports
- Following
building regulations and health and safety
- Accomplish
project objectives by coordinating and reviewing project schedules.
- Enforcing
policies and procedures
- Interacting
with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, and representing
them in the field
- Performing
quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel
performance and reporting on the project’s status
- Communicating
and managing all project stakeholders
- Successfully
run all allocated projects from inception to commissioning while ensuring
customer satisfaction and quality
Qualifications and Experience: –
- Upper
2nd class in Engineering discipline, Quantity Surveying discipline or
related field.
- Quantity
Surveying Certification
- A
minimum of two years’ work experience in quantity surveying with
a reputable organization.
- A
proven sales record with good customer service skills.
- Excellent
organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Strong
written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge
of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices.
- Ability
to work with multiple discipline projects.
