Cytonn Asset Managers Limited (CAML) is a regulated Fund Manager by the Capital Markets Authority and the Retirement Benefits Authority. The company is also a licensed Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) Manager under the Capital Markets Authority. Our objective is to offer superior risk-adjusted investment returns to our clients through investments in both the public and alternative investments markets. The fund manager provides Cytonn Money Market Fund (CMMF) (https://cytonn.com/asset-managers/money-market-fund), one of the high yielding money market funds in Kenya, which is fully automated for our retail investors.

CAML investors include global and local institutional investors, individual retail investors, and diaspora investors.

Cytonn Asset Manager Limited is a fast paced organization looking to bolster its Finance department in the Asset Management business line. The company is seeking to recruit highly motivated and  finance and accounts self driven individuals to support its vibrant finance department on an internship position. 

If successful at the end of the program, you will be offered a position. 

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and maintaining all the books of accounts. This includes assisting with month end closing processes and general journal entries to general monthly fund accounts.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual statutory financials reports to CMA.
  • Ensuring compliance with taxation and any other financial statutory requirements including filing and payment of PAYE, VAT and WHT among others.
  • Bank and cash reconciliations and substantiate financial transactions with verified source documentation.
  • Raising of monthly invoices for services offered by the fund manager and ensuring compliance of records.
  • Tracking of fund transactions by timely posting of documents of original entry into the accounting system.
  • Processing of payments to the service providers from the funds in a timely manner.
  • Assist during internal and external audit exercise with the required requests and keeping an organised records and documents of all transactions.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline with a minimum of Second-Class Honors, Upper Division is essential.
  • Minimum of B+ in KCSE, and in Mathematics and English.
  • CPA(s) or its equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and great computer skills.
  • Strong numeracy, analytical, strategy and research skills.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.
