Security Officer – ELEVATE Project (Local Residents of Mandera County encouraged to apply)
Job Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning
- Develop
and implement the project area security and safety response plan in
alignment with WV security policy so as to ensure the operational
priorities of the project area are appropriately supported.
- Ensure
Security Risk Assessments, Country Risk Ratings and Core Security
Requirement standards, processes and procedures for the project area are
completed in accordance with the current Office of Security, Safety and
Resilience (SSR) guidelines and training.
Security Operations
- Lead
all security and safety operations within the project area.
- Work
with the Roving Field Security Officer (RFSO) to carry out Security Risk
Assessments as required/directed.
- Country
Risk Ratings for the project area are established and updated as required
- Ensure
Core Security Requirements for the project area are implemented in line
with Country Risk Ratings
- Provide
input and support to management in crisis situations and critical
incidents
- Conduct
security investigations when required.
Networking and External Liaison/Engagement
- Represent
WV Kenya at local NGO security network meetings within the project area
and ensure information from these groups is disseminated to relevant staff
in a timely manner.
- Security
liaison with the local host government security agencies in coordinating
security and safety of WV Kenya staff and assets within the project area.
- Build
ongoing networks for sharing security information and coordination.
Capacity Building and Technical Training
- Coordinate
routine security briefing for staff and visitors to the project area and
conduct regular security training in liaison with the RFSO, for the
project staff based on local security risk assessments.
- Seek
to develop a culture of security awareness and monitor staff compliance.
Reporting and Documentation
- Provide
regular security reports to the Project leadership team, the region and
the Security, Safety and Resilience office.
- Ensure
that all security incidents are reported in accordance with WV Security
Policy.
- Collect,
analyse and disseminate security information appropriately and in a timely
manner.Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Project Officer – Health (Global Fund Project) Shortlisting on a rolling basis
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Project implementation
- Plan
for the implementation of activities including interpretation of budget,
preparing procurement plans, engaged in the procurement process and
following the donor and WVK financial accounting policy/requirement.
- Ensure
project implementation is aligned with the project’s goals and objectives
and is within the stipulated timeframe and targets.
- Conduct
regular field visits, provide supportive supervision, mentorship, monitor
project activities and provide technical support in accordance with the
project implementation guidelines & National TB guidelines.
- Support
the implementation of TB prevention, case detection and treatment programs
in alignment with Global Fund guidelines.
- Capacity
Building of Community Health Promoters, TB champions and other volunteers
to strengthen local capacity for TB management and community
sensitization.
- Support
Health facilities to identify TB champions.
- Support
development, implementation and monitoring of the work plans and ensure
that the budget is adhered to and that budgets are utilized effectively
- Ensure
both financial and program reports are sent to the donor as per agreed
timelines
- Advocate
for and promote gender-responsive, people-centered approaches.
