Thousands turn up for East Africa’s Got Talent auditions

Contestants arrive at the East Africa Got Talent pre-auditions at KICC, Nairobi.

The past weekend so East Africa’s GOT talent extravaganza set camp in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, with pre-auditions being held at KICC.

After successful events in Mombasa which attracted over 500 participants, organizers had lined up a 2-day series that will see successful contestants join a coveted list who will now grace the Theater Auditions.

Kelvin Victor (16) aka Bradybwoy the Young OG a from two student from Busia who traveled overnight to Nairobi to attend this local talent hunt, hopes that this pre-auditions will finally grant him and his rap crew a much-needed break-through after unsuccessful years in the showbiz industry.

But even as the hale and hearty lad maintains high hopes, he joins a list of thousands more who turned up for the pre-auditions organized by clouds media and Kenya’s largest telco Safaricom in partnership with Citizen Television.

East Africa’s Got Talent, which is due to start airing in August this year, will have 10 episodes, with the semifinals and grand finale shot live on location in Kenya.

Qualified participants from Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda will travel to Kenya for the live shows. The winner will walk away with KES 5 million (USD 50,000) as voted by the audience. $ads={2}
