How to Write a Cover Letter For Entry Level Teaching Jobs in Kenya [+SAMPLE ]

Are you applying for a job as a teacher? An outstanding cover letter can mean the difference between getting the interview and languishing in job-search limbo.

Use your cover letter to highlight relevant experience and past achievements. Your priority in this cover letter is to connect your work history and accomplishments to the job description. You’re not trying to recreate your resume here.

The goal is to introduce yourself and showcase the skills and qualifications that make you stand out from the competition.

Whether you’re fresh out of college or an experienced teacher, these tips and cover letter examples will help you convince the hiring committee that you’re the best candidate for the job.

Most of you have written enquiring if we can give you a tip of application letters in your specific fields. Just as a point of information, the general format that we gave a while ago does not change with your qualifications but changes with the level of the career ladder you are on.

Anyway, I just want to take you through samples that you can use as a guiding tool when drafting your job-winning cover letters. The general guidelines for a good cover letter are:

1. Let the font of the cover letter be the same as that in the CV.
2. It should be as short as possible unless you are applying for a very senior position.
3. It should have your full name, contacts, and date at the beginning.
4. Followed by the addressee’s full details.
5. Salutation to the receiver e.g Dear Sir, Dear Madam, etc
6. The main subject or reference. If sending by email, this should be the subject of the email. This must be in bold and underlined.
7. Introduction and declaration of interest for any available position or an advertised one.
8. A full paragraph showing your qualifications and how they match to the job description.
9. A concluding paragraph showing gratitude if given the opportunity to come to the interview.
10. Soft ending bye phrase like – Yours faithfully, yours sincerely, kind regards, etc
11. Your signature in black pen
12. Your full name in bold
13. The general outlook should be as simple as possible, short and brief

Here below are samples of general application letters that should give a heads up in doing an application. Very soon we will carry an article on what you should never do in an application letter. But just look at these letters for now and if you have any questions, send them to us and we will try as much as possible to send you a response. Remember these letters may appear in a tampered format because of the site application modules but we will try our best to maintain the original content.
