MEET BLACK WARRIORS FOOTBALL CLUB—RUIRU

Black Warriors Football Club is a grassroots team from Thome, Ha-kairu in Ruiru sub-county, Kiambu county. The team was first established in mid-2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown by youths who had lost their jobs and students from Kenyatta University, NIBS, and Zetech. The team got registered with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), starting at the lowest tier FKF Sub-County League in the 2021-2022 league. We qualified for a top four slot in the SUB COUNTY LEAGUE 2022-2023 which has enabled us to qualify for the KIAMBU COUNTY LEAGUE 2023-2024. The team now has a well-formed team of players, coaches, medics, fans, and most of all management to handle team matters.

At Black Warriors, we pride ourselves on good football. Our club exists as a change agent and is active beyond football. We want to see the youths changed and uplifted through sports. This is what makes us sore high and we anticipate going to new heights as the club continues to grow. We are up and about #PlayingForChange.

The team is full of soccer experience, athleticism, and pure love for the game of soccer. Each player brings a unique strength that is shared, developed, and shaped to define this exceptional team. 

Our volunteer coach – Stacey Auma works tirelessly dedicating her time and resources to ensure that our players get the right and the best training. Mentors from across the country are usually invited to share and encourage our players.  

We pride ourselves and thrive because we follow the following principles that guide us:

As of now, funding for Black Warriors F.C. comes from registration fees and tournaments.

We want everyone to have an opportunity to play soccer at the level that is appropriate for their skill set.  Sometimes it is a financial struggle to make that happen.  Your sponsorship in this area would definitely be put to good use.
