IF YOU ARE YOUNG & TALENTED, IT'S LIKE YOU HAVE WINGS
I find this quite intriguing even though on a personal level, I think the above quote has a loophole.
The truth is that every young person has a talent or great potentials embedded in the inside. This talent, however, is in its raw form, as such represents feeble wings. This heavy-duty talent on the inside must first be DISCOVERED in its raw state. This point of discovery is what Wallace Stegner captured in his quote "TALENT CAN'T BE TAUGHT BUT CAN BE AWAKENED".
DISCOVERY then hands talent over to DEVELOPMENT. Now, this is where I emphasize that "TALENT IS NOT ENOUGH". In other words, TALENT IN ITS RAW STATE IS NEVER ENOUGH".
For talent to bring Value and Relevance to its bearer/ possessor, the said bearer must endure the pain in nurturing the raw talent until it becomes remarkably unique. The bearer must commit to DISCIPLINE & CONSISTENCY. It is the best way to refine that multi-million dollar talent that currently attracts only a few cents. The individual must build capacity in this specialized area by learning from those who have gone ahead in the same field. Read books, articles & journals that feeds you in this light.
Young people let's say NO to EXCUSES...Let's do what is HARD, NECESSARY & ultimately has LONG-TERM BENEFITS. Always remember that the feeble wings only become as strong as the level of capacity you've built over time. The more you build capacity, the stronger your wings become. The stronger your wings, the higher you can fly. You then become better positioned to withstand every storm.
